God promised his own champions in the battle.  God the Father promised the woman and her offspring.  He promised his daughter and her son.  This son is the Son, through whom all who receive God’s Spirit, the Holy Spirit, will have the full victory.  He promised the intercessor and the mediator, the king and queen of heaven.  The Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth is at the right hand of God interceding for us.  His mother is also in the presence of God beside his throne.  The rest of her offspring, the saints of the Church Triumphant, are interceding for us as well.  The kingdom of God is a family.  Adam and Eve awaited their salvation; however, it would be thousands of years before its arrival.  Moreover, in a contradictory sign, the woman would be devastated by the torture and murder of her son.  It’s a prophecy requiring great patience and a pure heart.
