Scripture is one of the ways that God reveals things to us. In the prior two paragraphs, verses selected from different parts of the Bible overlap with rich meaning. Every verse of God’s Word is confirmed by the Holy Spirit speaking to our spirit while presenting an image to our mind’s eye. Soon, these images aggregate into a rich picture of breadth, depth, beauty and meaning. We’ll soon see how Creation, the Nephilim, the Flood, Noah's vineyard, Melchizedek, the Transfiguration, the Institution of the Eucharist, and other biblical events are each separate and yet connected. Each is a stroke of God’s brush and yet one overlapping deposit of paint on canvas. It’s said that a picture is worth a thousand words. This is why analogies can be such an efficient form of communication. This is also why our experience with God’s Word can grow, deepen, expand, and become richer as we spend more time before it.
